TABLETOP INSPIRATION

On top of raising money for a worthy cause, The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary's annual Festival of Tables fundraiser is a great place to get new ideas for creative tablescapes.

Here are three of The O Report’s favorite inspiration-filled tables, and the details that made them extra special.

Mary Katherine Hudson’s elaborate and lovely table decor won her a blue ribbon.

We loved her watering can dripping with a stream of crystals.

This elegant spring table caught our eye.

Egg cups filled with grass were perfect place card holders.

Summer isn’t even here yet, but Patty Pressley of CE Rental’s joyous table had us dreaming of December. The bright green tablecloth and candy cane striped overlay were so festive.

Criss-crossed flatware, jolly elves and monogrammed ornaments made each place setting unique.

Maybe the decorations were a little over the top, but that’s part of the fun of Christmas.

Unwanted Guests by Patty Hammond and Pam Simpson looks like a lush picnic scene at first glance. Then you realize some hungry ants have joined the party.

Look closely and you’ll see the unwanted guests.

The most fun detail was the ants marching down the side of the table with bits of food in tow.

TABLESCAPES INSPIRATION

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary's annual Festival of Tables fundraiser is always filled with fabulous ideas for creating a spectacular tablescape. Here are The O Report's favorite details from the 2017 event held in April at the Sheraton/Le Meridien. 

Think outside the jewelry box and use your necklaces as napkin ties and casually place rings on the silverware as shown at the Beauty With Bling table (photo above) decorated by Nadela Chambers-Miller and Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry. It would be extra fun to use glitzy but inexpensive costume jewelry rings on the silverware and then let guests take the rings home as party favors. 

A perfect teacup of roses at the Alice in Wonderland-inspired I Had The Most Peculiar Dream table decorated by Debra Brown of Bee Seniorized. This table was filled with exquisite little details including the clever clock chargers. 

Legendary interior designer Tim Bagwell used his signature animal prints for this chic jungle theme table. Notice the placecard that says Patsy Drummond because if you're ever at a dinner party and see her seated next to you, you know you're at the right event. 

Pages from antique books were turned into works of art including a wedding cake and gown at the spectacular Here Comes The Bride table decorated by Tommy Braswell of Braswell Interiors. 

A cute S'more station was one of the darling details at the Going To The River table decorated by Tammy Ashmore. 

A teapot filled with bright blooms and a monogrammed linen napkin were so proper and pretty at the Garden Tea Party table decorated by Margot Smith. 

A gorgeous tower of flowers made a breathtaking statement at the Floral Finery table decorated by Carla Eustache of Style Perfect Events.
