This year's Coveted Couture, the Mint Museum's spring gala, raised the most yet in its three year history. Part of its popularity is that it celebrates the appeal of the museum's acclaimed Fashion Collection while raising money to benefit its programs, exhibits and arts education.

Adding extra glamour to the evening were gala chairs Marianna and Trey Sheridan. (Marianna, a Mint Museum Auxiliary board member and the fashion liaison between the Auxiliary and the museum, is also the Archivist for Oscar de la Renta).

Even though it was held in an elegant tent (from Party Reflections) on the lawn of the Mint Museum Randolph, a strong rainstorm didn't dampen spirits. It made everyone laugh more because it turns out it has rained every year the gala has been held.

During the live auction, event planner extraordinaire David Klingel jumped into action by saving a tree frog that had hopped onto the dance floor. Then he brilliantly helped auction off the pleasure of letting the frog go to a generous couple who donated $1,000 for the "right." La-Tea-Da's Catering created the modern menu and the New York City party band Right On had enthusiastic guests doing some hopping of their own from the dance floor to the stage.
